How male and female students use language differently

Deborah Tannen makes her argument in this article by presenting her own findings as a female professor along with observations made by her male counterparts.  By doing this she is able to present and analyze both male and female thought on the topic, which is critical to the validity of her argument.  In the article, Tannen presents both aspects of male and female teaching styles by comparing her own to her male colleagues.  I don’t believe she ever directly addressed readers who disagree, however she thoroughly covers all aspects of the topic and explains major misconceptions.
